An extract from the school inspector's report, October-November 1944
Report by HMI Mr S N Godfrey on Meldreth Council School Oct 31st & Nov 14th 1944. The standard achieved in this school is generally satisfactory. There is evidence of consistent work in both the physical training and the country dancing lessons, and the speech of the children has received the same careful attention. The juniors are keen readers and respond well to questions on their work in geography, history and arithmetic. The generous use of illustration in the lessons has helped to arouse their interest.
