  • I was so pleased to find mention of Aaron Harrup as blacksmith in the village. Both my great great grandfather and great great great grandfather were named Aaron Harrup and I believe that both were blacksmiths working in the village. Aaron senior would have been around 39 years of age (bn 1808) at the time of this list and his son would have been around 12yrs (bn 1835), My father Anthony (Tony) Harrup found this information whilst researching our family tree.

  • I was so happy to find this page! My grandfather, Edwin Ellis, emigrated to the United States some time in the late 1800s or early 1900s (I will have to look it up). I believe he was a younger son of Charles Ellis of Meldreth. Capt. John Hitch Ellis is also on the family tree, which goes back to the 1700s to a Thomas Ellis and Susannah. I would love to send you more information and read more of your history!
