The 24 children in Bob Neale’s class won £350 for the school and each received a calculator when they won first prize in a competition for primary schools run by the Centre of Statistical Education at Sheffield University.

The 10 and 11-year olds worked on an investigation of probability and chance.  Mrs Brown, the headteacher, said, “In the project they looked at dog racing, horse racing and the football pools and proved that whatever you did the probability is you lose.”
